Based in Italy, Ficep is the world’s largest producer of automated systems for the fabrication of structural steel and is a pioneer in innovative ironworking machines. NuBlue was challenged to bring that innovation to the company’s web design as it launched a new brand based in the UK.
We were approached by Ficep to help it create the world’s first online shop for ironworkers. While the site would operate from London, Ficep wanted the business’ reach to be global. We were charged with creating a site and integrating LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook accounts to help it achieve its goal.
We created a custom Magento-based information site with private shop. A bespoke setup would allow Ficep to customise product entries and display related products in a number of ways. This flexibility would give Ficep greater control over the way it displayed products to customers. The site was created with a multi language setup content management system. This would allow Ficep to offer the site in various languages as the brand developed. The shop would operate in Euros, opening Ficep Plus to the widest possible European market.
Ficep now has the first online ironworking store in the UK. It is a site capable of operating in multiple languages. It can geo-target customers (i.e. deliver different relevant information to users in different locations) and configure and customise products to suit customers’ needs. The streamlined online ordering process has resulted in massive efficiency and has helped Ficep realise significant administration savings.
