I have just ordered and installed a new SSl certificate on my magento site.  At some point through putting an order through the site, should there be some sign that the site has an SSL? Maybe a padlock or some form of acknowledgment of security? Any info would be appreciated wink

without anymore information to check the install has been correct it's hard to tell what is wrong. It may be that you need to change the secure base URL within Magento from http:// to https:// , otherwise Magento won't attempt to utilise the secure environment. You may also need to refresh the cache on the Magento install after doing this (including the rewrite cache) as Magento caches links and URLs. That's me fresh out of ideas so hope one of them helps
