Does anyone know where I could by some cheap .com domains? I have some friends bugging me about where the best place to buy is and I have searched and found a few like netfirms and so on but I thought someone here may have a secret place big_smile...

Unfortunately we can't compete with the bigger Domain Registration companies on price.  Many of the larger hosting companies offer domain registrations as a loss leader, and then for every little add-on you need you'll be charged.

The worst practice is charging for a transfer out of your domain, I'd strongly recommend you look into whether a company will charge you to take your domain elsewhere before signing up with them (a final kick in the teeth if you're leaving over the quality of service).
