How do I create Webspace on Plesk 9.x?

First of all, you will need to log in to your Control Panel.

Click on ?Domains? and then click on ?Create Domain?.  Administrators will need to first click on ?Clients?, select the appropriate Client account, and then click on ?Domains? and ?Create Domain?.

Enter the domain name you want to create webspace for in the first field.  If you want to use the www prefix, ensure that the ?www? checkbox is ticked.

Leave the ?IP? and ?domain template? settings as they are.

Similarly, leave the ?Mail? and ?DNS? services switched on.

For ?Hosting Type?, select ?Web Site Hosting?.  ?Forwarding? is used to redirect the domain to another URL, this can be achieved without using your server - if your domain is registered with NuBlue, you can achieve this by following this guide.  The ?No Hosting? option is not useful for this guide.

Under ?Hosting Settings?, enter a username and password.  This will be used to generate an FTP login for your domain.

Once you have done this, click on ?Next?.

On this page you can configure more advanced hosting settings.  They can all be changed at a later date so we will focus on the most important options.

Under ?Services? you can select all the components you need for your website.  A common option is to enable ?PHP support?.  Once you have done this, select ?Apache module? in the ?run as? drop down menu.  Ensure that you have unchecked the ?PHP ?safe_mode? on? box!

You can also choose to run PHP as a FastCGI or CGI application, however these require some different configuration checks to work properly so please contact support first to make sure this is the right choice for you!

Finally, select ?Webalizer? or ?AWStats? from the dropdown menu next to Web statistics if you want to use the built in web stats module.  If you do select this, be sure to tick the adjoining password protection box.  You will then be able to access your web stats by going to http://yourdomainname/webstat/ - and login using your FTP username and password.

Once you?ve selected the options you want, click on ?Finish? ? you?ve set up web space, and can now upload your website!
