Magento One Click!

Today we are releasing our own custom One Click Installation for Magento - available to all Shared Hosting customers, and by request for any of our VPS or Dedicated clients!

We’ve been testing and refining the installer for a few weeks now, and as luck would have it we’ve had to put it back briefly as Magento 1.3 has just been released - however it will be worth the wait as I’m sure you’ll see.

The One Click installer allows you to install to the root or a sub-directory, install the sample data, and go through all the options that would normally involve a prolonged uploading and permissions process and then following the Web Installation - all in a couple of minutes.  And once it’s done, all your login details will be emailed to the admin email address!

And as a little bonus we’ve also added a ‘Clear Magento Cache’ button.  We’ve found that a lot of sites grow over time with the amount of caching Magento does through the site and Magento Connect, and the cache clearing functions of Magento never seem to catch everything.  So we’ve put a button in there that will clear website and downloader cache - two areas that regularly fill up, particularly the downloader cache that seems to be hidden away from the prying eyes of developers!
