The Brief: We were asked by SHS International to provide a sister site to SHS-nutrition.com, aimed at people who were affected by metabolic disorders. The site needed to provide details of their products, as well as provide easy access to the latest information and recipes for patients, parents and carers alike. Along with consumer information, the site needed to provide healthcare professionals with important research on metabolic disorders. On top of all this the site should be a communication hub for people to share their experiences, advice and support.
The Result: Lowproteinliving.co.uk provides a huge source of information for people affected by metabolic disorders in a way that encourages people to get involved, without feeling overwhelmed by it all. Multimedia content such as videos and podcasts make the site innovative and interactive. Community spirit is at the heart of this website, with the latest posts from the forums and ratings and reviews of information playing a key role. Low Protein Living uses the same content management technology as SHS-nutrition.com. This provides one port of call for SHS for all of their site management, and with a centralised database, information never has to be duplicated - effectively halving the job of uploading new information to both sites.
