In News & Culture Nublue becomes Nominet Partner Posted by Stefan We are thrilled to announce that we are now an Accredited Channel Partner of Nominet, the governing body for all .uk domain name registrations. That means we can now provide .uk domains to clients directly from Nominet, cutting out third-party involvement and reducing the time involved in setting up .uk domains for our clients. By becoming an Accredited Channel Partner of Nominet, the governing body for UK web domains, we want to demonstrate that we share Nominet’s commitment to making the internet more secure, more enjoyable and better-performing for UK businesses. Nominet runs the ‘family’ of .uk domain names including .co.uk, .org.uk and .me.uk, which are used by millions of businesses and web users every day. They’re committed to making the internet more secure, and have been providing UK domain registry since 1996 – and they’re now introducing innovative new domains for UK websites including .uk, .wales and .cymru. They’re also working with well-known British brands to develop custom domains including .bbc, .bentley and .comcast. Thousands of internet service providers are Nominet registrars, meaning that they can register and sell web domain names to customers via Nominet. While some of these ISPs are Channel Partners, we are among only 250 or so ISPs which are classified as Accredited Channel Partners, because they are demonstrably committed and have proven that they: Meet Nominet’s customer service level commitments Provide customers with important information relating to their domain registration Provide a contact for reporting any websites that may be considered abusive Are insured to cover themselves and their domain registrants Set out their approach and what measures they have in place in their business continuity statement Integration of Nominet’s Data Quality Policy with Nublue’s existing ISO 9001 quality processes Take responsibility for validating registrant data wherever Nominet is unable to.
