We’ve recently launched a brand new responsive website for Mardon PLC, the international seafood import and export company based in Lancaster and Qingdao, China.

Mardon stores and ships much of the cod, salmon, haddock and mackerel eaten in the UK. After 37 years in the industry the company now trades with 35 countries, and is one of the leading businesses in its sector.

Creating Mardon’s new site

Following in-depth consultation and our personalised briefing process, our agency team completely redesigned and rebuilt mardon.com with a fresh, modern design. The new look and feel was designed to really showcase the people, the passion and the expertise behind Mardon’s brand – and to put a new, engaging twist on the idea of the traditional corporate website.

We designed, developed, tested and launched Mardon’s new maritime-themed website to display their product range of fish, crab, whelks and bait attractively. Our focal point was to clarify Mardon’s high level of service and support, and to capitalise on their most valuable assets: their skilled international team, many of whom have hands-on experience in the fishing industry.

The new site has also been updated to communicate with prospective clients more clearly; engaging visitors and building vital trust and confidence in the brand to help Mardon expand their business.

We also upgraded Mardon’s site to include an interactive new Meet the Team section, and changed how the site displays its important information about the company’s seafood processing plants. The rebuild also includes new graphics and video content designed to bring the website to life, and the site automatically adapts its layout responsively to fit visitors’ screen size on any device.

Design, development and hosting features

Working in close partnership with the Mardon team throughout the project, we overhauled their site’s design to give it an engaging, high-end look and feel.

Our design team used a more image-based design with less text, to create a more modern and appealing corporate website. The new desing features a combination of text and large, reader-relatable images to explain Mardon’s technical processes and experience in logistics clearly for their industry clients and prospects.

The new website defaults in English but can also display in four other languages, reflecting Mardon’s requirements in a global marketplace. Our development team also integrated Google Analytics with the new site, allowing Mardon to measure their new site’s web traffic accurately and to inform any future changes they may want to make to their new website.

As both a digital agency and a web hosting provider, we also supplied Mardon with superfast SSD hosting to ensure swift, seamless load times for their website, greatly improving the browsing experience for Mardon’s visitors.
