The Brief
Health and social care providers across the country procured PPE through decentralised systems that struggled under the pressure of COVID-19. The initial solution couldn't cope with the complexities of national distribution, leading to over-ordering in some places and shortages in others.
A reliable, user-friendly system was needed — urgently — to get the right protective equipment to the right providers at unprecedented scale.
The Solution
We built an Adobe Commerce e-portal with elastic search and rapid ordering capabilities: a reliable, user-friendly platform able to cope with the complexity of national distribution, fully migrated within six weeks.
The portal made it simple for tens of thousands of registered providers to find and order what they needed quickly, while giving DHSC the resilience and oversight to manage ongoing distribution requirements with confidence.
